Lafayette Police Blotter

Too Much Fun at Fuz, 11/06/09 A Fuz Restaurant patron called police after she witnessed another patron back into her vehicle and leave the parking lot without stopping. The victim gave police the license plate number of the offending Dodge minivan and police made contact with the suspect in the driveway of her home on Juanita Drive in Walnut Creek. The suspect admitted she had consumed alcohol at Fuz, but refused to take a sobriety test. The suspect was arrested for a DUI and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.

Smashed Window 11/07/09 The victim returned to her car in the Lafayette Community Park parking lot and discovered that an unknown suspect had smashed her driver's side window. The smasher gained access to the trunk and stole $20. Damage to the window is estimated at $350. There are no suspects, witnesses or investigative leads at this time.

Bicycle Disappears, 11/7/09 A 16-year-old called police to report his bicycle had been stolen from the front of McDonald's on Mt. Diablo Boulevard. The teen left his blue Trek 4300 mountain bike, value $399, in front of the restaurant at 6:00 pm. He returned at 7:00 pm and discovered it was missing. It is unknown whether or not the bike was locked prior to the theft. The poor guy was not feeling happy after his meal.

In Through the Back Door, 11/7/09 Lafayette Police were summoned to a Silver Springs Court residence to take a burglary report. Unknown suspects pried open the rear pedestrian door of the resident's garage and entered the house through the unlocked garage entrance. The suspects took several items valued at $6,900 from the home and rudely drove away in the resident's Lexus. A neighbor had noted a man with shoulder length, shaggy, dark hair enter the home through the front door earlier in the day. It is possible the neighbors do not know each other. There are no suspects at this time.
