Lafayette Police Blotter

Shotgun Fired at Workers, 2/4/10 A woman fired two shotgun shots at two men who were working on a Leeward Glen Road home. Fortunately, the workers were not injured in the shooting. The woman left her home shortly after the shooting but was contacted by police later that day. The shotgun was collected from the shooter's attorney and taken into evidence. No details on the motive were known.

Stolen Mirror, 2/9/10 The victim parked her car on Pleasant Hill Road at the 24 overpass and went to work for the day. When she returned, she discovered that someone had removed and stolen the driver's side mirror from her 2001 Honda Accord. The owner does not know who stole the $200 mirror. Perhaps the suspect was a passerby who truly couldn't get enough of himself.

Missing Driver, 2/12/10 Lafayette Police were called to the scene of an accident involving a car and a utility pole. Police arrived to find drooping power lines and a pole with a car in it. Although the car was still running and the transmission was in drive, there was no driver to be found. Police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle who reported the car had been stolen.

That Car Doesn't Fit in the Mailbox 2/15/10 An unknown suspect smashed an El Curtola Boulevard resident's windshield with the victim's mailbox. The suspect also damaged a 2nd car at the victim's home. Damage to the 2001 Accord EX is estimated at $2,550. Since the mailbox was housed in a wooden frame, officers were not able to recover fingerprints.
