Orinda in Action
While aspiring movie makers are busy creating their three-minute masterpieces for entry in the California Independent Film Festival's Iron Filmmaker Contest (see article page L2), Lamorinda's largest spring cleaning event will draw many Orindans to the streets and creek sides. The second annual Orinda in Action Community Service Day will be held on Saturday, April 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Community beautification activities may include cleaning the creeks, streets and neighborhoods. Event co-chairs Jessica Smith and Molly Wilson are seeking volunteers and suggestions for projects.
Scheduled events include:
Recycling Drive by and drop off your electronic waste (no household hazardous materials.)
Donate old clothes or useable household items Goodwill Industries will be on-site to collect your items.
Donate food Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano County will be on-site to collect non-perishable food items.
Volunteer check in will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Orinda Library Plaza. For more information, or to sign up or suggest a project, email OrindaInAction@gmail.com.
