Sweepstakes fraud, 5/9/10 A 92-year-old Sleepy Hollow resident was called and told she had won a sweepstakes. However in order to claim her fabulous prize, she had to send $717 via Western Union to Jamaica. She sent the money, but sadly the prize never came.

Burglary, 5/10/10 The garage door of a Bates Road home was pried open by an unknown suspect. He or she entered the home and took several tools and appliances. Estimated loss of items $9,730, estimated damage to the garage door $2,300.

Drug possession, 5/13/10 A 40-year-old white male was pulled over for an illegal lane change on Highway 24 near Oak Hill Road in the wee hours of the morning. The fellow was combative and resisted arrest, despite his attitude he was taken to the Orinda Police Department for chemical testing. He was arrested for driving under the influence and drug possession for the two pills found in his car without a prescription.

D.U.I., 5/13/10 A Moraga resident was pulled over at Valley View and Moraga Way, where he displayed signs of alcohol intoxication. Since his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit it must have been fairly obvious. Two words - Orinda Taxi.
