J. Rockcliff Realtors Serve the Community During 'Orinda in Action' Community Service Day
Submitted by Matthew B. Geiser
Agents for J. Rockcliff Realtors, the premier residential real estate company in the San Francisco East Bay, were among nearly 500 volunteers who turned out to help beautify Orinda during a recent city-wide work day. Agent Holly Henkel served once again as volunteer coordinator for the successful "Orinda In Action" event, and agents Patty Cronin and Diana Legate served pizza, beverages and inspiration to the many hungry and industrious volunteers.
Nearly 2,000 service hours were logged during the half-day event aimed at cleaning up streets, schools, creeks, trails and parks. In addition, more than 200 bags of recyclables, litter and green waste were collected, and volunteers planted in excess of 100 plants and flowers, and 200 flower bulbs.
The annual event was sponsored by the City of Orinda, and funds were donated by the Orinda Association, Orinda Juniors, City of Orinda Community Fund, Del Rey School, Wagner Ranch Parents Club and Daniel Fuhriman.
"This event is special because it brings community members together for a common cause - helping keep our city beautiful," said Ellen Anderson, vice president and manager of J. Rockcliff Realtors' Orinda and Lafayette offices. "Rockcliff agents recognize that real estate is as much about community as it is about buying and selling homes. It's a pleasure to see these exceptional professionals donate their time and energy to such a worthy cause."
A resident of Orinda, Henkel said this event not only helps make the city clean and beautiful, but also helps neighbors connect with each other in a meaningful way while contributing to their community.
"I really enjoyed working side by side with my co-workers, friends and neighbors, and it's always my pleasure to have the opportunity to meet new people," Henkel said. "This event exemplifies why Orinda is such a desirable place to live and raise a family."
