Moraga Police Blotter

Teen versus tree, 7/13/10 Neither was a winner. Around 12:30 in the morning Moraga officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a tree at Corliss and Camino Ricardo. Officers noted it appeared that the driver was attempting to flee the scene. An intoxicated juvenile at the intersection let an "unknown person" drive his car - who then crashed into the tree and ran. Thankfully only property damage occurred. There were no witnesses. The car was towed from the scene at the owner's request - presumably mom or dad. Hmmm, possibly grounded for life.

Burglary at Mulholland Ridge, 7/08/10 While the owner walked her dog on the ridge one morning, her pick-up parked at the end of secluded Donald Drive was broken into and a purse that was concealed under a towel on the front floorboard was stolen. Within minutes of reporting the incident, the dog walker's Bank of America credit card was used at a Safeway store in Pleasant Hill. The burglar gained entry via a smashed side window.

Contraband trifecta, 7/08/10 Alert officers noticed a car parked in a posted "no parking" zone on Alta Mesa Drive at 11:30 at night. A 17-year-old occupant was in possession of a pack of Marlboro's, a small amount of marijuana and a bottle of vodka. The subject was cited and released to his parents.

Camera found, 7/04/10 A Nikon Coolpix camera was found on St. Andrews Drive in the Moraga Country Club at 10:00 p.m. Likely left behind by an Independence Day Reveler. If this could be yours - contact Moraga P.D. Any incriminating photos?

Drunk teen at Fireworks, 7/04/10 Country Club Security had detained a 15-year-old female who was extremely intoxicated. Her blood alcohol content was .20, more than double the legal limit for drunk driving. She was released to her mom and will be participating in the Juvenile Diversion Program.
