Orinda Police Blotter

D.U.I. 7/03/10 An Orinda officer on routine patrol noticed a car on Highway 24 without a rear license plate. When the car was pulled over the strong smell of marijuana emanated from the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking before left his home a short distance away. The incident happened at 9:21 in the morning. Pot - breakfast of champions?

Driving with a flat, 07/02/10 In the early morning hours, a car was spotted driving on Moraga Way with a flat tire. The officer smelled alcohol, so he questioned the driver who admitted to having a number of beers and some vodka. Half way through the standard field sobriety tests the young man could not continue and asked, "Can I just confess to drunkenness?"

Deck material disappears, 6/30/10 An unknown suspect entered a Singingwood Lane property and removed decking materials valued at $600. No suspects or witnesses at this time. The thief must have had a pick up truck.

Tools taken, 6/26/10 Construction tools were locked away at the end of a work day on Oak Grove Road with a padlock. Early the next morning workers returned to the job site to find the padlock cut and all the tools gone. Although this theft was on the "other side of the tracks (freeway)" could the thief now build his own deck?
