Moraga Police Blotter
School party, 8/23/10 Approximately 35-50 juveniles were having a party at Los Perales School at about 9:30 p.m. When police arrived a number of the youths took off, but some were detained on suspicion of consuming alcohol - evidence of empty beer cans littered the scene. Parents were called, and the kids were released to their custody. One student required medical assistance, but he was cleared by Moraga Orinda Paramedics and released to his father. Celebrating the first day of school? Genius.

Walking while confused, 8/22/10 Police responded to Moraga Way and School Street on a report of an elderly female that appeared disoriented and confused walking in and out of the roadway. After checking Aegis and Moraga Royal, to see if they had lost anyone - with negative results, cops figured out that the 93-year-old was just out to buy soup at the store. She requested a ride back to Safeway.

Vandalism damage, 8/21/10 Danefield Drive residents found evidence that an unknown subject or subjects filled water bottles with a cocktail of olive oil and garlic and poured it on the homeowner's cars, lawn and plants causing an estimated $550 in damage. Also left behind were notes written on the lawn.

Cash found, 8/20/10, Moraga Library staff called the police to report $280 cash was found in early August. Library personnel kept the cash for two weeks waiting for the owner to come forward. Because no one had claimed it, staff reported the found property to the police where it was booked into the oddly named Property Room. Perhaps anonymous fine reimbursement for overdue books?
