Camping in Sanders Ranch, 8/09/09 Officers responded to a call from a Merrill Drive homeowner reporting observing an approximately 20-year-old male with a backpack in a field near his residence. The young man took off, but cops found several chairs, a large wooden table, and piles of empty beer cans, several tiki lamps and a half gallon of lamp fuel. Drunk people, dry hillside and tiki torches, not a great combination.

Danger to Self, 8/03/09 Moraga police responded to a Larch Avenue home where an elderly female was attacking her social worker. Cops determined that she was a danger to others; subsequently she was taken to Contra Costa County Hospital for a 72 hour psychological hold to be evaluated by mental health professionals.

D.U.I., 8/03/09 A Nissan Altima was stopped on Ascot Drive, officers noticed the smell of alcoholic beverages on the driver like a musky cologne. The driver was subject to a field sobriety test, which resulted in a .233 reading. That's almost three times the legal limit. A taxi would have been a better option.
