Lamorinda Kids Rule at the Reservoir Run

They may not be Elite Milers, yet, but over 100 children officially competed in the 10k and 5k races during last weekend's Reservoir Run. Many Lamorinda kids finished in the top of their age brackets.

10k
Michael Lawson (age 4) of Lafayette finished first in the Male 2-7 age group with a time of 52:20. Thomas Domgeu (9), also of Lafayette, finished first in the Male 8-10 group with at time of 56:46. Close behind was Orinda resident Elt Obrien (10) with at time of 1:00:38. The top finishers in the Male 11-13 bracket all live in Lafayette: Dylan Foster (12) finished with a time of 49:54; Jack Hood (12) was close behind with 50:37 and Tommy Hodd (12) finished 53:38. Lafayette runners also swept the podium in the Male 14-18 group. Keenan Byrne (14) finished first with 40:20. He was followed by Jeffrey Wilde (14) at 41:24 and Justin Nathan (15), with 43:35.
Lafayette's girls also did well. First place finishers included Colleen Dukes (5) in the Female 2-7 group with a time of 1:31:38 and Helen Coleman (11) in the Female 11-13 bracket with a time of 1:12:48. Cassandra Broome (14) finished second in the Female 14-18 group with a time of 1:11:24.

Nick Pearson (7) and Luke Miles, both of Lafayette, took second and third place in the Male 2-7 group with 24:28 and 26:08 respectively. In the Male 8-10 group, Lafayette resident Payson Newman took first place with a time of 20:40, breaking the course record he set himself (21:37) during the 2007 Reservoir Run. Carson Enyre, also from Lafayette, came in third at 22:24. Lamorinda boys took the top three spots in the Male 14-18 group: Orinda's Charlie Zamanian (14) finished first with a time of 19:36. 30 seconds later, taking second, came David Boucher (15), also from Orinda, followed by Lafayette's Cameron Taylor in third place at 20:41.
In the Female 2-7 group, Jennifer McFarlane (7) of Lafayette took second place, coming in at 32:10, followed closely by third place finisher Pia Dovichi (7), also from Lafayette, with a time of 32:38. Raea Gragg (11) and Sasha Newton (11) of Lafayette took first and second place in the Female 11-13 group with times of 22:35 and 24:31 respectively. Moraga's Katie Coates took third place at 25:08. In the Female 14-18 group, Haley Shipway came in first with a time of 21:47; Amanda Galvin took third at 24:12; both girls are from Lafayette.
