Orinda Police Blotter
Drunk in Public, 1/24/10 A fifty-ish white male was seen looking into windows of local businesses. Officers noticed the odor of alcohol and his red watery eyes. The gentleman, who is a transient, had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit. Cops felt he was a danger to himself and arrested him for being drunk in public.

Car burglary, 1/23/10 An unknown suspect smashed out the right front window of a Toyota Highland parked in a church parking lot on Irwin Way and stole a purse from the front seat. The vehicle's owner was inside at a piano recital. Approximately $125 missing and $250 damage. The church is just down the hill from the police department.

Golf clubs stolen, 1/22/10 A car was left unlocked on Alta Vista Drive, a relatively secluded street off of El Toyonal in the hills. Nothing of value was in plain view, so the unknown suspect popped the trunk and made off with golfing equipment valued at $1,435. Hard to estimate the actual value of a lucky putter.

Car stolen, 1/22/10 A gray Chevy Tahoe was stolen from the driveway of a home on El Toyonal. The car was left unlocked and the owners purse was left inside on the passenger seat, inside the purse were the car keys. Same day as the golf club heist, and just a few blocks away.
