As a way to spend a Saturday, you might consider bringing your family to your local MOFD fire station to visit with the firefighters, get educated on how to keep your home safer from fires, practice the correct way to use a fire extinguisher, and grab a hot dog lunch. The kids can play in the bounce house and get some free popcorn. All this and more at the Moraga-Orinda Fire District's Annual Spring Open House!

Firefighters will be working the grills and walking the area to help you load up with second helpings. This is a chance to grab a quick lunch and also an opportunity to meet your local firefighters, check out the fire trucks and other apparatus, and maybe even to catch a glimpse of Smokey the Bear or Sparky the Fire Dog and his car Squirt.

The hot dog lunch is sponsored by your local firefighters. Donations are $5 for a Casper's hot dog, a bag of chips, and a soda. All proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
