Start warming up your voices now and making your song selections....the Orinda Arts Council invites K-12th graders to audition for a chance to be a 2010 Orinda Idol Finalist! New this year: All categories are open to all Lamorinda residents and students at Lamorinda schools (Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda).

relevant documents goes live on April 1 on the Orinda Arts

orindaidol.html. Registrants will be added on a first come, first served basis--so register early! Registration will close on April 21, 2010.

Auditions will take place at Orinda Intermediate School (OIS), at 80 Ivy Drive in Orinda, following the schedule below. Signs will direct students to the audition location.

Soloists K-2 Wednesday, May 12, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Soloists 3-5 Thursday, May 13, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Soloists 6-8 Saturday, May 15, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Soloists 9-12 Saturday, May 15, 11 to 12 noon and 4 to 5 p.m.

Groups K-5 Saturday, May 15, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Groups 6-12 Saturday, May 15, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.



At the audition, students will bring background music of their choice on a CD or iPod and sing for a maximum of two minutes. Audition judges will be music and performing arts teachers and professionals in the community. Up to ten finalists in each category will be selected to sing at the Orinda Theater on September 12 to compete for cash prizes and recognition.
