Lafayette's Robby Rowell and Brian Merken combined for a no-hitter, striking out 10 in a shutout win in the District 4 Tournament over East County. Matty Vicencio ripped a double and home run and Seppi Ortman added a double and triple knocking in five runs for Lafayette. Ty Whelehan collected two hits, including an RBI triple for the winners.

Lafayette shutout Walnut Creek in the District 4 Tournament in Oakley. Ty Whelehan closed the game by pitching a scoreless fifth inning, striking out two batters. At the plate, Seppi Ortman and Matty Vicencio each had three hits. Willie Grace and Brian Merken notched two doubles apiece.
