The 2011 XXII Junior Pan American Championships for karate was held in Fortaleza, Brazil on September 1-3. Moraga teen Chris Wellbrook captured a silver medal at this prestigious tournament, where he competed against athletes from Central, South and North America. Wellbrook is a senior at Campolindo High School where he also wrestles.
