MOL Prepares to Celebrate 40th Anniversary
Submitted by William Fraser

On a fall morning in 1969, a few dads gathered some boys on a field at Campolindo High School to organize flag football games. Thus was the MOL (Moraga Orinda Lafayette) flag football league born.
Within several years, the league relocated play to Joaquin Moraga School, and has continued to experience steady growth in the number of players and teams since. As board members of the league prepare for the 2009 season, it is anticipated that there will be a record forty-six teams, with over 550 participants.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of MOL's founding, a reunion evening will be held on Saturday, October 10th at the Lafayette Veteran's Hall. All who have participated in the success of this local organization, as coaches, players and board members are invited to come share a memorable evening. Attendees must be aged 21-and-over. Organizers are hoping that those who live locally will get the word out to interested parties who have moved from the area, and that anyone with old photos, slides or news clippings will lend them to our efforts.
Those interested in more information are directed to the league website,
