Her family fled China when the Communists took over the country in 1949 and immigrated to the United States. The restaurant was her playground and training ground for the utmost in gracious hospitality and discretion. Debbie's book is inspiring and unfathomable as she weaves together stories of humor, pathos, confluences of fate, and the eternal guiding hands of her ancestors.
