Lease vs Own: MOFD Delays Decision
Orinda City Council to meet in special session on Friday, August 5
By Lucy Amaral

At a special meeting held August 3, the Moraga Orinda Fire District (MOFD) Board of Directors again opted to delay a decision on where, or if, to move its administrative offices. MOFD Board President John Wyro said a proposal from the City of Orinda with regards to leasing or purchasing a portion of the city offices was sent too late to the Board for them to adequately review the information and make a decision. The Board agreed to continue the discussion at its regular meeting scheduled for August 17th, and charged Fire Chief Bradley to continue negotiations with the City of Orinda.
A Special Meeting of the Orinda City Council, which will begin with a closed session, has been called for this Friday, August 5, at 8:00 a.m. – on the agenda is the discussion of the potential lease of a portion of Orinda City Hall to MOFD for administrative office space.
