Lafayette Considers Ban on Plastic Grocery Bags

The Lafayette City Council will soon consider an ordinance that would ban single-use plastic bags and charge a small fee for paper bags. At the April 22 meeting the environmental task force will recommend the ban to the city council. Those interested in voicing their opinion on the matter are welcome to comment at the meeting which starts at 7 p.m. in the Community Hall, Lafayette Library and Learning Center.
